Teaching American History Grant Program

WELCOME to the Homewood-Flossmoor American History Consortium (HFAHC), a collaboration between Chicago’s Newberry Library, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and five of Chicago’s south suburban school districts: #233 (Homewood-Flossmoor HS), #230 (Sandburg HS, Stagg HS, Andrew HS), #227 (Rich East HS, Rich South HS, Rich Central HS), #218 (Eisenhower HS, Richards HS, Shepard HS), and #210 (Lincoln-Way East HS, Lincoln-Way Central HS).  The consortium’s twelve public high schools account for over 25,000 students and in excess of 3,000 educators.

All activities of the HFAHC are 100% funded by a $967,900, three year Teaching American History grant from the US Department of Education – grant program period (10/05 – 9/08).
